Southern Sequoia Groves
Of the 65-75 identified groves, all but eight of them occur in a narrow band about 70 miles long, stretching from the Kings River south toward Lake Isabella. Here, by far the largest groves of giant sequoia - and by far the largest trees - live. The vast majority of these groves are protected within Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park and the newly created Giant Sequoia National Monument.
